Vayage ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Vayage app.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: email address, display name, and authentication data (if you sign in with Google or Apple).
• Location data: your device's GPS location, used to show nearby places and provide navigation. We do not store your location history on our servers.
• Trip & itinerary data: destinations, saved spots, documents, and preferences you create in the app.
• Usage data: anonymous analytics to improve app performance and features.

2. How we use your information

• To provide and personalise the Vayage service.
• To generate AI-powered itineraries and recommendations.
• To send transactional emails (e.g. account verification).
• To improve the app based on usage patterns.

3. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the app, including:

• Supabase — secure database and authentication.
• Mapbox — map rendering and geocoding.
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Anthropic / OpenAI — AI itinerary generation (no personal identifiers are included in prompts).

4. Data security

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/HTTPS. Your account credentials are handled by Supabase and never stored in plain text.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can delete your account directly within the app (Profile → Delete Account), or contact us using the details below.

7. Children's privacy

Vayage is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Vayage ("we", "our", or "us") governing your use of the Vayage app and related services. By creating an account, logging in, or otherwise using Vayage, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Vayage. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. Licence

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Vayage for your personal, non-commercial travel-planning purposes, subject to these Terms.

3. User Conduct & Content

When you share a trip or spot to the community Showcase, other users can view it, like it, and comment on it. You are solely responsible for the content you choose to share, and you confirm you have the right to share it.

4. Reporting & blocking

Every piece of user-generated content and every comment includes a flag control so you can report it for review. You can also block any user from the report menu or from their profile — blocking instantly removes that user's trips, spots, and comments from your feed and notifies us to review their content.

5. Moderation

We review reported content and act on it, typically within 24 hours. We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion and without prior notice.

6. Accuracy disclaimer

Vayage uses artificial intelligence and third-party services to generate itineraries, cost estimates, and recommendations. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all information (such as opening hours, prices, or availability) is correct or current. Please verify critical details with the relevant provider before booking or paying.

7. Bookings & third parties

Vayage may link to third-party booking providers. Any booking you make is a transaction between you and that provider; we are not a party to it and are not responsible for it.

8. Limitation of liability

Vayage is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any travel disruptions, financial losses, or damages arising from your use of the app or reliance on its content.

9. Termination

You may stop using Vayage and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete Account). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

You can delete your Vayage account and all associated data at any time, directly from within the app. No need to contact us.

If you're unable to log in and need to request account deletion, please contact us and we'll process your request within 30 days.
